Local Student Honored at Newly Remolded ZIPS Car Wash

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

ZIPS Car Wash and the North County of St. Louis Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, July 25th to celebrate the newly remodeled car wash at 9430 Page Avenue and honor a local student receiving a $1,000 scholarship from ZIPS Car Wash through its national partnership with Folds of Honor. ZIPS is partnering with Folds of Honor as it celebrates 20 Years of Clean with a $20,000 Give Back Tour to help fuel the academic dreams of children of fallen or wounded US service members and first responders.

“This ceremony in St. Louis marks a significant milestone for ZIPS, as we celebrate 20 years of car washing and continue to enhance our customer experience across the country,” said Rebecca Latacz, Chief Marketing Officer, ZIPS Car Wash. “Alongside updating our locations, we’re introducing our new mobile app and finding new and meaningful ways to reward our most loyal fans – ZIPS Unlimited members. We want to invite our members to leverage their access to 19 ZIPS across greater St. Louis to visit our newly remodeled locations and help us celebrate our Grand Re-Opening on Thursday,” she added.

Guests helped ZIPS recognize Folds of Honor scholarship recipient Christian Isaiah James Lovelace of O’Fallon, MO, and received complimentary air fresheners and popcorn treats from local favorite, Pop Pop Hurray.

Christian is in the 10th grade at Westminster Christian Academy and his favorite subjects are French, Science, and History. He’s part of the Theater and Audio/Visual Club. His mother, Senior Airman Takisha Lavett Cabknor served 4 years in the US Air Force and was disabled in the line of duty.

“We’re so proud to see how supportive the ZIPS community has been over the last month as our customers have donated over $15,000 to Folds of Honor by adding a small donation to their car wash purchase since our anniversary kick off on June 4th,” said Latacz. “We’re giving back as a brand too, for every new app download on key military holidays, we’re giving $1 directly to Folds of Honor,” she added.
